New theme park proposal for Wodonga

A new theme park is planned to be built in Wodonga, just near the NSW/VIC border, should I get a seat in the Victorian Parliament.

The theme park will be conveniently located near the Hume Freeway, therefore those planning road trips between Sydney/Canberra and Melbourne and vice versa can stop over at the theme park and have a great day out.

It is hoped the theme park will be one of the largest theme parks in Australia, attracting local, interstate and international visitors. In its first year of operation it is hoped the theme park will attract at least 2 million visitors.

It is also hopeful the theme park can serve as a catalyst for other projects such as a new train station between Wodonga and Albury, upgrades to facilities at Lake Hume and a major upgrade of Albury Airport, positioning Albury/Wodonga as one of the key tourist destinations in Australia in the near future.

This theme park will operate all year round, with different attractions in operation for both Summer and Winter. Attractions will include a white water park so visitors can enjoy over summer (as opposed to making long road trips to the beach) and a few roller coaster rides but much more will be revealed in due course.

If approved and funded construction on this exciting new theme park will begin in late 2019 and will be completed by the end of 2021.
